KOTIDO President Yoweri Museveni, also national chairman for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) says the party may consider voting by lining behind candidates to avoid complaints of cheating in party primaries.
The President was Monday June 23, campaigning for the NRM flag bearer Peter Abrahams Loki for Member of Parliament and Ismail Muhammad Lomwar for Municipal Mayor in Kotido Municipality.
Museveni has for the recent weeks traversed different regions campaigning for party candidates in the new municipalities and by-elections.
The President on Sunday July 22, campaigned for the party flag bearers at different levels of leadership that include the Member of Parliament and the Mayor among others.
Last week the president campaigned for Elioda Tumwesigye the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in Sheema.

He also canvassed support for Abel Kahara Atucungwire, who is the NRM flag-bearer for Sheema Municipality Mayor.
Sheema Municipality is a newly created constituency that has been curved out of Sheema North where he described the achievements of the NRM as the fruits of a focused leadership system that has prioritised crucial issues that affect the masses in the country.
“There is no doubt that what NRM has achieved is crystal clear. Here in Sheema District, out of 29 secondary schools both private and government aided, 15 are government supported while out 176 primary schools, 120 are government supported,” he said.
However, information reaching this website indicates that the NRM boss has shunned Bugiri where he was expected Monday to campaign for the party flag bearer Mr Francis Oketcho.
(NRM) secretary general, Justine Kasule Lumumba, last week asked voters in Bugiri municipality to forgive the party of any past wrongdoing and support its flagbearer in the July 27 polls.
Lumumba, said: “Voters need to forget what went wrong and give Oketcho and the NRM party the mandate to work for them given that he is the best candidate among the contestants.”
Four candidates are contesting for the newly created Bugiri municipality MP seat and they include; Asuman Basalirwa (Jeema) Eunice Namatende (FDC) and Joel Wamono, an Independent.
