NANSANA – Police have Monday July 2 afternoon raided a home in Nansana, Wakiso District, a few kilometers Northwest of Kampala where they discovered two stolen cars and several number plates.
In the same operation, police have arrested a number of suspects found in the house, which according to residents was being rented.
While police officers at the scene remained tight lipped, our reporter saw a Toyota Noah, registration number UAT 563J, which is one of the cars reported to have been stolen and tracked to the house on Monday afternoon. Before police ordered journalists off the scene, we were able to identify one of the number plates as UAS 318K.
It was unclear whether the number plates were from stolen cars or were plucked off cars as is the habit of thugs who later ask the owners of the cars to contact them and pay before their plates are. returned.
Unofficial reports indicate that the car was followed from 6:00am on Monday, leading police to the house in Nansana.
Mr John Bosco Byaruhanga, a resident of the area said they always thought the house was occupied by its owners but were shocked to discover that the occupants who have been common in the area were tenants. He said police should allow the residents to identify the occupants.
While police had asked journalists to leave the house premises as investigations continue, PML Daily has remained on cite to bring you updates as the story unfolds.
