KAMPALA- Police in Kampala has arrested a woman identified as Hasifah Mudondo for allegedly trying to rob off her ‘husband’ with whom they’ve lived for only three weeks.
Patrick Kusemererwa, a clothes vendor, told Old Kampala Police that he met Hasifah, 22, three weeks ago at a restaurant, woed her, and since then, the two have been living together as husband and wife.
Hasifah is said to have cunningly cut out her plan for theft after her husband Patrick revealed to Police that she had pressurised him for money to go visit her parents in Bududa which he decided to give to her out of love.

On Patrick leaving for work, Hasifah quickly packed off all her husband’s household items which included a bicycle, woofers, television set, a phone and a bale of clothes and she immediately jumped on a motorcycle (boda boda) to sneak away these items.
Hasifah was deemed unlucky as she found Patrick on the way who realised he had been robbed. He then alerted Old Kampala Police who trailed and arrested his new wife, Hasifah.
In a statement recorded by Police, Hasifah said she was tired of living with a mean man and had gotten a new boyfriend where she was headed.
The suspect is being detained at Old Kampala Police Station on charges of theft under file number SD Ref 52/19/17/2018.
