ENTEBBE- Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine last evening left the country for Washington DC in the United States of America for treatment.
Bobi Wine left Entebbe Airport in the company of his wife Barbara Itungo. They were seen off by one of their lawyers, Nicholas Opiyo.
The departure marked a tense of 24-hour period for the ailing legislator who had on Thursday evening been blocked from travelling abroad by police.
Police blocked his journey and then checked him into Kiruddu hospital where they later claimed they wanted to examine him and ascertain whether he had been tortured.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima, in a statement on Friday, claimed that following a complaint from the Uganda Law Society that Bobi Wine had been tortured, they had to subject him to a medical examination in a government hospital, Kiruddu.
Bobi Wine, Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake and several other people were brutalised by members of the Special Forces Command after they were arrested at the tail end of the campaigns for the Arua Municipality MP by-election won by Kassiano Wadri. He was first charged with possession of fire arms in the army court which charges were dropped before he was slapped with treason charges in connection with stoning the presidential car.
