
KAMPALA – The Director General of Internal Security Organisation has suspended a senior director in charge of Kampala region.
Lt. Col. Joseph Aliganyira is accused of failing to provide information prior to the group fights that befell president Museveni during his recent tour of the Kampala City.Security sources that asked for anonymity told PML Daily that
Col. Kaka Bagyenda to Security Minister, Gen. Elly Tumwine communicating the suspension last week.
Col Kaka’s letter is also copied to the Commander in Chief, Chief of Defence Forces, Internal Affairs Minister among others.
“Lt Col Aliganyira’s suspension was triggered by fights of groups of people in front President in the recent tour of Kampala city and that he didn’t foresee as an ISO director what befell in front of the president, “said the source that asked not to be named.
Reports from security indicate that Col. Aliganyira has already left office pending investigation on the wide range of issues.
ISO is in charge of compiling intelligence that is relied on by the president and government in implementing programmes.
And it is assumed that Lt Col Aliganyira did not do his work well to capture the scenarios of the different bickering groups, something that would have prevented the embarrassment of the president when he visited the city suburbs.
Lt Col. Aliganyira has served in ISO for long and has been credited being loyal and hardworking. He previously served as director political. Ends
