KAMPALA– Hardly a day after the High court judge, Justice Jane Frances Abodo ordering for a fresh trial, Brian Isiko has been charged afresh with cyber harassment and offensive communication against Kabarole district Woman MP Sylvia Rwaboogo.
Justice Abodo Thursday acquitted Isiko on the similar charges and had his 2-year jail sentence set aside after the judge established that his plea of guilt had been improperly entered.
The High court then ordered that Isiko be tried again in the next 48 hours with charges and ingredients of the offenses explained in a language that he best understands before he pleads to them. The court also cancelled the bail it had granted to Isiko in August and remanded him back to Luzira prison.
However, a production warrant was issued yesterday (Thursday) by Buganda Road Court for Isiko to be produced before Grade one magistrate Stellah Amabilisi today who granted him a cash bail of Shs1 million (1000,000).
In court, charges of cyber harassment and offensive communication have been read again to Isiko and he candidly denied them.
Isiko has been released on bail after presenting his paternal and Maternal uncles as sureties in court and he has been ordered to return to court on October 29, 2018, for trial.
Prosecution states that Isiko spent the months of November 2017 and June 2018 sending repetitive love messages to MP Rwabwoogo whose telephone contact he downloaded from the Parliamentary Website.
