
KAMPALA-The Belgium Embassy Celebrated 20 years of close cooperation with Uganda on the King’s Day at Kampala Serena Hotel on Thursday evening.
The guests were ushered in with cocktails as they listened to great performances from Blues Excuse Band.

With a theme of “sharing more than colours, ” the celebrations kicked off with week-long activities of the Belgium – Uganda week that will be climaxed on November 21.
” Today is the Kings day and marks the beginning of Belgium -Uganda week were we have we have lined up a series of activities to celebrate our culture and strong cooperation with Uganda.

“This awesome journey started 20 years ago and still moving on. Uganda has a lot in common and this is clearly seen with having the same national colors. This day reminds us that we should be strong and patriotic,” said Ambassador Hugo Verbist.

“Uganda and Belgium enjoy bilateral cooperation done by Enabel in Education through skills development, huge investment in Agriculture of about 3 million Euros in Agriculture, Kasese development program, the Clean project of 2 million Euros in collaboration with the Ministry of water and environment, investment in tourism, promotion of peace and democracy. We are looking forward to building this strong partnership for the betterment of our countries,” said Hon Dr.Elioda Tumwesigye, the Minister of Science, Technology, and innovation
