MAKERERE- Embattled researcher Dr Stella Nyanzi has been arrested and whisked to police after she attempted to access her office at Makerere University.
This follows a court ruling that Makerere should reinstate Dr Nyanzi to her position.
PML Daily understands that Dr Nyanzi has been transferred from Wandegeya police station where she was held initially to Kireka police station where she is being detained by press time.
In a social media post Dr Nyanzi on Thursday, had vowed to forcefully access her office the following day (Friday).
According to a social media, Dr Nyanzi posted saying Makerere was directed to reinstate her but had since refused to honour court decision.
Mr Isaac Ssemakadde, a human rights lawyer who also represents the embattled researcher has confirmed the developments but says he is still following the matter.
Dr Stella Nyanzi was fired by Makerere University about two years back on orders of the chairman of the Appointments Board, after insulting the First Lady and education minister Janet Museveni.
