BUSIA – The ousted Busia district boss Ouma Adea started campaigning for the joint opposition candidate Deogratias Hasubi Njoki on Thursday.
Ouma made the revelation as he addressed residents of Sirakusi trading centre in Bulumbi Sub County.
Ouma said he was fully supporting Njoki and urged residents not to make the mistake to elect Boniface Paul Oguttu the NRM candidate.
In May, Ouma was kicked out of office by the court of Appeal on grounds that he was ineligible to contest in the district elections having been convicted over abuse of office by the anti-corruption Court in 2014.

This was after Justice Andrew Bashaija ruled in favour of Njoki and Sowedi Oundo who had lost to Adea in the 2016 polls petition High court in Mbala challenging Adea’s victory.
Ouma was elected as an NRM-leaning independent.
He accused the district NRM chairperson Erick Masiga and Julius Maganda the state minister for East African community affairs of imposing Oguttu on the people of Busia.
He appealed to the electorate to vote for experienced Njoki noting the district cannot be ruined by inexperienced Oguttu who has already made several mistakes during his two years reign as acting chairperson.
