
MENGO – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Wednesday, November 7, pledged Shs2.5 billion to the Kampala National Resistance Movement (NRM) youths.
This was revealed by Ms, Lucy Nakyobe, the State House comptroller who met the NRM youths at Biyem Hotel in Mengo where she represented Mr. Museveni.
Nakyobe also launched a yellow overall with a yellow beret that the NRM youths unveiled to counter to red People Power overall.
During the event, the NRM youth complained to Nakyobe who represented that they had been sidelined during the previous tours that Mr. Museveni made in the past months.
The youths presented to Nakyobe, a washing bay project costing Shs796 million.
Ms. Sarah Natukunda, one of the youth leaders who presented the project proposal said the scheme is meant to uplift Kampala youth from poverty.
Nakyobe who said their request for washing bay machines and water pumps will be fulfilled and that the budget for each division will be increased to Sh500 million with money for washing bays inclusive.
Nakyobe also told NRM youths that they had not been abandoned, as they had claimed. Nakyobe argued that plans were in advanced stages to meet them.
