KAMPALA – Andrew Mwenda, a veteran journalist and the proprietor of the Independent Magazine has lashed at Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine claiming the singer is not fighting for anyone’s freedom but for personal power so that he too can establish his own dictatorship.
In a lengthy social Media dossier, Mwenda first sympathized with Bobi Wine saying blocking him from hosting concert is literally denying him the right to live.
“In an ideal world, this is unacceptable. It is therefore understandable that many people would be angry,” Mwenda wrote.
This was after Police heavily deployed at the singers’ One Love Beach in Busabala blocking his annual concert on Boxing Day.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said the concert was not cleared.
Mwenda, however, in the same dossier turned against the legislator making damning allegations that Bobi Wine is himself not respectful of the freedom of those who disagree with him.
Mwenda further alleged that “the defense of Bobi Wine’s right to host concerts is not a defense of his right to freedom and liberty as many may think.”
He adds that rather “it is a defense of the right of a radical extremist group intolerant of dissent, and always willing to employ physical and psychological terror on its opponents, to also capture power and load it over others. I find it difficult to defend the right of this neo-nazi cult to organize for power.”
Mwenda also challenged Bobi Wine to first defend the freedom of those who criticize him from the “cyberbullying of his social media terrorists if he believes in freedom.
?Mwenda whose political ideologies are still confusing also slammed ?the US embassy along with European Union ambassadors for being in bed with Bobi Wine claiming that is oblivious of singer cum politician’s demonstrated a disregard for liberal democratic ideals.
?”I urge Bobi Wine and [Kiiza] Besigye to watch the Chamisa interview on BBC and hopefully to pick one lesson or two,” Mweanda claimed adding that for now, only naive and pseudo-democrats shopping for cheap popularity can stand in honest defense of Bobi Wine and his desire to grab power to establish his own dictatorship!.
