AMURU – A clinical officer operating a private clinic in Pabbo town council in Amuru district was on Sunday arrested by police at Pabbo station after he was reported for allegedly raping a thirteen-year-old girl who had gone to his office seeking medical service at the clinic.
Sunday Godfrey, 35, was arrested from his workplace soon after the father of the minor reported to police that her daughter revealed that the doctor in the closet, while he was supposed to provide medical services, forced the girl into sexual intercourse. The incident happened on the January 4.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Police spokesman for Aswa region confirmed the incident and said Sunday was arrested on allegation of raping a 13-year old sick girl who was seeking medical services at his private clinic.
“We have Sunday in our custody for allegedly raping the 13-year old sick female minor at his private clinic in Pabbo,” Okema said.
The minor according to Okema, had presented abdominal and waist pains to the clinic on Friday 4th with the help of her father who sat out waiting for her daughter to receive treatment but when the father wanted to take her for another dose of drugs the following day, the girl refused and revealed that the doctor raped.
Both the suspect and the victims are due for medical examination at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital under the lead of police officers at Gulu central police station according to the region’s police spokesperson.
