
CITY CENTRE – At least five people were killed in Kampala as the country prepared to usher in 2019, says Police.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire while addressing journalists at the Central Police Station in Kampala on Tuesday said that a 2- year-old boy Alton Kabali was found dead in a septic tank at their home in Bunamwaya.
He said that Kabali was strangled and his body dumped in the septic tank.
Others killed included 36-year-old Denis Tumwesigye Zinsaze an employee of Kasubi Seminary.
He was found dead at a forest near Nabinonya beach.
Police in Entebbe is carrying out further investigations.
In Kitala, Katabi town council, 32-year-old John Mike Owori was stabbed to death by his wife Lillian Asasira.
He explained that a body of unidentified man was also found dumped in Mutukula zone along Northern by pass in Nakawa Division and that the victim was hit with a blunt object on the head.
A money lender John Kayemba was last night strangled by unknown assailants as he approached his home in Nalamiro zone, Bwaise 2.
Owoyesigyire further revealed that 80 suspects were arrested from different parts of Kampala on allegations of pick pocketing.
