KAMPALA – Kyandondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has said while 2018 has been challenging, it has shown that Ugandans have the potential to liberate their country.
In a New Year message posted on his Facebook wall, Bobi Wine said 2019 is now the year to overcome the fundamental differences and unite the country
“Dear Uganda, Praise be to God that we have come to the end of 2018. The year has by no means been easy. It has been very challenging for many of our citizens. I sympathise with those who lost loved ones and pray that God will comfort you. At the same time, we are very grateful for the many blessings bestowed on us each day of this year, especially the blessing of life for those of us who still live today,” he said.
“Although challenging, 2018 has showed us how much potential we have to make our country better when we are determined, united and more committed. At the same time, 2018 has revealed to us that the kind of forces we are up against are very dangerous, reckless and determined to keep us under the yoke of oppression by any means. What gives us hope is that those forces, however fearsome, are not insurmountable. In the end, the people of Uganda shall certainly overcome them,” he added.
“My wish for the new year is that as Ugandans, we shall be more united in purpose, more committed to the struggle, more courageous to confront the forces of evil, and more hopeful that we shall build a new Uganda which works for all of us,” he added.
The musician-cum politician faced his worst political challenge in 2018 when he was brutalized by SFC soldiers in Arua Municipality by-election violence.
In December, police blocked his music concerts. However, on December 31, he was allowed to perform at Enkuuka concert in Bulange Mengo.
He also dedicated a song to his supporters.
“Please receive, and be encouraged by our new song, which we are dedicating to you for the new year- OLUTALO NGA LUWEDDE, TULIYAMBALA ENGULE (When the struggle is over, we shall wear victors’ crowns).”
“On behalf of all comrades in the struggle, I wish you all a happy and revolutionary 2019.God bless you. God bless Uganda.

#PeoplePower_OurPower.”
