
WASHINGTON DC – Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine will today Wednesday, February 6, appear on Voice of America’s popular talk-show, Straight Talk Africa.
Bobi Wine will discuss the freedom of expression in Uganda and Africa.
The talk show is hosted by Ugandan-born American journalist Shaka Ssali.
In a statement shared on their social media, the station confirmed that; “Today Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, Member of Parliament in Uganda and also known by the stage name Bobi Wine will join Shaka to talk about freedom of expression in Africa.”
Bobi Wine also confirmed the invitation by Voice of America.
“Today, I’ll be joining Shaka Ssali [ Voice of America) on Straight talk Africa to talk about freedom of expression in Africa. Also airing on @nbstv [ NBS TV] at 9:30Pm [EAT],” the youthful MP posted.
Jon Temin, Director of the Africa Program at Freedom House will also be in the studio to talk about freedom of expression on the Continent.
This has come a day after, Freedom House, released its most recent report that says democracy faced it most serious crisis in decades in 2017, as free and fair elections, minority rights, freedom of the press and the rule of law came under attack around the world.
Voice of America stressed that Jon Temin will talk specifically about Africa.
Wilson Masilingi, Ambassador of Tanzania to the United States will also join Shaka today in studio to talk about the freedom of expression in Africa.
Others include Tundu Lissu, also Member of Parliament in Tanzania.
The MP will speak at 9:30- 10:30 pm Ugandan time in a show that will also telecast live on a local NBS Television.
