MBARARA – Mbarara District and municipality have received new officers in acting capacity to replace those who were interdicted after they were implicated in corruption scandals and charged in the Anti-corruption court in Kampala.
Ms. Lilian Kobusingye who has been the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Mbarara District is now the Town Clerk Mbarara Municipal council, whereas Mr. Ananias Kweyamba Ruhemba who has been the CAO Ntungamo District is the new CAO Mbarara.
It should be noted that last week, the Unit arrested Ms. Edward Lwanga and his treasurer Mr. Richard Kerere on a number of corruption allegations.
These were later arraigned before the Anti-Corruption court in Kampala but were granted cash bail of UGX10m each after denying the charges.
The interdicted officers for both Mbarara District and the municipality now number seven
