KAMPALA – People Power movement a pressure group led by Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has blasted famous blogger Tom Voltaire Okwalinga also known as TVO) over malicious comments against the group and its leadership.
“We have in the past treated TVO as an ally and comrade in the struggle. Our judgment was based on TVO’s previous posts against the same injustices we are fighting,” reads in parts a statement issued by Marvin Saasi, the group’s online communication’s chief.
TVO through his or her Facebook over the weekend alleged that Mr. Wine’s wife – Mrs. Barbra Itungo Kyagulanyi – possesses a diplomatic passport, a claim entirely dismissed by the People Power as false.
“We wish to clarify that this is not true. Neither Hon. Kyagulanyi nor his wife possesses diplomatic passports. They have never applied for them in the first place. We challenge TVO to produce the passport, or perhaps the evidence of its issuance, to substantiate his or her ridiculous allegation,” the group clarified bashing TVO over outrageous lies.
Recently, Mr. Wine asked People Power supporters to look at the bigger picture and not attack TVO even when he or she provokes them, saying at the time, “we thought he or she was a pro-change agent. It appears that we were wrong.”
“His or her lies go a long way to confirm that like many others who hide amongst us, TVO is a negative force working to derail, delay or altogether defeat the struggle for a better Uganda. We must determine to keep focused on the struggle and not be diverted by such people as TVO who seem to be pursuing a selfish agenda,” Mr. Saasi added.
About TVO
Over the last eight years, TVO has troubled security forces, despite the invested resources in unmasking the face behind the man who used to leak top exclusives to the public through the Facebook page.
TVO arrived on the scene in 2010 as the country was preparing for the 2011 presidential election.
He immediately started leaking ‘credible’ information to oppositions through Facebook.
He also defined himself as a bit of credible information leaker, targeting mainly President Yoweri Museveni and his inner circle including Members of the First Family.
He also targeted other top state agents and government officials who appeared to enjoy the favour of the NRM government.
