
MPIGI – Former Hoima RDC Isaac Kawooya and five family members have perished in an accident at Mpambire swamp in Mpigi district Friday morning. Mr. Kawooya has been the RDC Koboko district.
Mr. Moses Kajubi, the chairman LCIII for Nyamitanga division where Kawooya hails has confirmed. He has told journalists that Kawooya together with Hajji Muwonge were on their way going to Kampala before they met their death at Mpambire.
“We have lost two big Muslims in my area, so right now we are preparing the burial arrangements,” Mr. Kajubi said.
Sources say that the accident has claimed six people including five members from one family from Ntungamo. Among these include; Ms. Christine Aharizira, Hajj Abdallah Muwonge who has been in the management of Mbarara taxi park, Mukakamali Anastasie, a Rwandan National and RDC Kawooya

Mr. Kawooya was appointed RDC for Bushenyi in 2014 then moved to Hoima, Soroti and now he has been the RDC Koboko. He hails from Katete, Nyamitanga division in Mbarara Municipality. He was a former councilor and contested for Municipality parliamentary seat in 2011 before he was appointed RDC in 2014.
Mr. Kawooya’s last appearance in Mbarara was on the inauguration of the Mbarara district Khad Abdallah Mukwaya on Wednesday.
