
GULU – The Chief Political Commissar AIGP Asan Kasingye on Wednesday, June 26 met and advised police officers in Gulu to exhibit humility during the execution of their duties.
Mr. Kasingye has also urged them to ensure that there is cooperation between community leaders and police.
The AIGP together with the Community Policing team in Aswa Region visited Gulu main market where they carried out general cleaning.
Thereafter, he met the Resident District Commissioner, Bishop of Gulu Diocese and Prisons Region Commander for the Northern Region.
From there, the team proceeded to Amuru District where they also interacted with officers and local leaders.

Mr. Kasingye also encouraged the officers to teach Local Council authorities their roles as per the Local Government Act.
The whole of this week, top police bosses, including the IGP Martin Okoth Ochola and his deputy Maj General Sabiiti Muzeyi, are currently on countrywide tours, going through the various regions interacting with other officers to discuss various issues affecting their work.
These tours are aimed at improving professionalism, as officers preserve law and order and enhancing Uganda Police Force’s capability in emergency and rescue services.
They also focus on strengthening traffic and road safety enforcement and education, promotion of community policing to increase public awareness and participation in crime prevention.
