KAMPALA – Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has urged President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to sack the governor Bank of Uganda and other directors, arguing that they are the root cause of the scandals at the institution.
While addressing a weekly press conference on Monday, the party spokesperson, Mr Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda described Prof. Mutebile as a scandal himself who is ignorant of the happenings at the institution due to his purported evident tiredness.
“If Mutebile and other people at BOU had been fired, we wouldn’t have all these scandals happening. For as long as Mutebile and others are still in charge expect the worst. When you take a critical look at Prof. Mutebile, he himself is a scandal since he is sleepy, retired though still in charge” said Ssemujju.
He also decried of president Museveni’s failure to retire old tired people.

Several central bank officials in charge of currency, procurement and security are under investigation in connection with the illegal transportation of extra cargo on a plan carrying currency.
The Central Bank is already in the limelight after Parliament demanded action against several senior officials for mismanaging the sale of several commercial banks that had become insolvent.l
