
KOLOLO – The Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) has retaliated its commitment to continue providing treatment and care for cancer patients.
This was after hundreds of Ugandans and people living in Uganda flocked Kololo Independence grounds to take advantage of the extended services of free cancer screening and treatment at Kololo independence grounds.
The free service is part of the Budget month ahead of the National Budget reading.

The activities are part of the ongoing exhibition where Government departments are show casing to the public the services being offered at government departments as part of accountability ahead of the National Budget reading.
The Public Relations Officer of the Uganda Cancer Institute Christine Namulindwa says the screening is free faster and painless.
She is encouraging all Ugandans to find their way to Kololo independence grounds to take advantage of the free services.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister Hon Ruhakana Rugunda opened a three day (3-day) service excellence exhibition week highlighting the different sectors of government expenditure in the 2018/19 National budget.
While officiating at the opening function, the Rt Hon Prime Minister pointed out that the exhibition aims at creating awareness and publicizing services, products, and innovations offered by the Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
He added that the service excellence week (National budget week) is also geared at increasing effective service delivery and giving accountability to the public.
Hon Rugunda highlighted some of the achievements registered by the Government of Uganda that include: Universal Primary and Secondary Education, increased agricultural production, Youth Livelihood Programs, Women Fund and Elderly Fund, Northern Uganda Special Action Fund and providing sustainable peace and tranquility, among others.
He further commended all exhibitors for turning up in big numbers; which shows their commitment to the public.
The Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Hon Matia Kasaija noted that the exhibition week will strengthen accounting procedures among the different organs of government.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Information Communication Technology, and Ministry of Wildlife and Tourism, are among the Ministries participating at this year’s exhibition.
The exhibition is being conducted under the theme “Industrialization for job creation and shared prosperity.
