KAMPALA- Kyadondo East legislator Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has on June 28 promised to evacuate President Museveni in 2021 or even before.
While addressing mourners at the vigil of his staunch supporter late Golooba Ssuna Batumidawo at Kamwokya, Bobi Wine said he believes in democracy and that is the only way he can defeat President Museveni in the forthcoming elections in 2021.
“We believe he will go in 2021. We believe in democracy and elections. Let us believe and act towards it. We can even take him off even before that date,” Bobi Wine said.
He urged the youth to mobilize themselves and terminate Museveni’s regime in all ways including social media as long as they do so within the confines of the law.
“Social media is a big blessing. It gives us the opportunity to make headlines, to uplift spirits and spread knowledge. Museveni knows the power of social media that is why he is fighting it. Don’t be surprised when he increases the OTT to UGX5,000 daily,” Bobi Wine asserted.
He further added that “Museveni will not see his mistakes even if he had all the time; we have to free ourselves from him and the time is now. We should start acting towards it.”
Bob Wine has called upon all the ‘people power’ supporters to express their anger without wearing any ‘people power’ clothing as it portrays a bad image in public.
“The people we are fighting are old, tired and few. We can upset them. But first, we need to operate in a way that doesn’t make us victims in the end. We should represent the Uganda we want and avoid the things we condemn,” he said.
Bobi Wine in March 2019 confirmed that he will be challenging long-serving and incumbent President in the next presidential polls.
The last presidential elections were held in 2016. The incumbent, President Museveni defeated the main opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye.
Former presidential candidate, Retired Col. Dr Kizza Besigye recently refuted claims that he is afraid of Bobi Wine’s fast rise on Uganda’s political scene.
Fellow opposition member and four-time presidential candidate Besigye, on very many times, has warned Bobi Wine on his strategy, saying Museveni can’t be removed through a mere election.
