
KAMPALA – The current Miss World Vanessa Ponce De Leon together with the Miss World team headed by CEO Julia Morley will be jetting into the Uganda for a 6days visit.
The team will in the at from 24 to 30 July and they are expected to attend the Miss Uganda grand finale that was launched on Monday June 10 at Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.
The Mexican will also participate in other series of tourists including a Pearl of Africa tour, engage in beauty pageants with a purpose projects among others.
Uganda is one of the countries in the world listed among the friendliest places to visit.
Miss World is the oldest running international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951.
Since his death in 2000, Morley’s widow, Julia Morley, has co-chaired the pageant.
Along with Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth, this pageant is one of the Big Four international beauty pageants—the most coveted beauty titles when it comes to international pageant competitions.
The current Miss World is Vanessa Ponce of Mexico who was crowned on 8 December 2018 in Sanya, China.
She is the first Mexican woman to win Miss World.
