AMURU- There was a celebration on Saturday, July 20, in Pabbo town council in Amuru district as Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and People Power president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was joyfully welcomed at a thanksgiving event of Kilak North MP Anthony Akol.
The event was organized by MP Akol to thank God for surviving a recent accident along Gulu-Kampala highway.
The event which was graced by Bobi Wine, saw the local residents embracing the People Power leader whom they endorsed to unseat the incumbent president Museveni in the forthcoming elections in 2021.
While speaking to the celebrants, Bobi Wine said it was great to connect with the people in northern Uganda but he noted that the people of Amuru specifically Apaa residents are still hurting because government has robbed them of their only possession.
“The people of Apaa are still hurting because Government decided to rob them of their greatest possession – land. Together with their area leaders, the people asked us to keep on with the fight against injustice such as the one they face, and we obliged.” he posted on their official social media page.
Bobi Wine also reconfirmed to the people of Amuru that he will stand to unseat president Museveni come 2021 so that Uganda can get smooth power transition.
“They also reiterated their call for me to take on President Museveni in 2021. I reconfirmed to them that I am willing and ready to lead them as we take on the task and that we ought to unite to make this smooth transition happen. Thank you, Acholi for the love” Bobi Wine posted.
The team including Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake Butebi, Kilak Soth MP Gilbert Olanya, Amuru woman MP Lucy Akello, Leader of Opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Ocan, Muwanga Kivumbi and People Power Spokesman Joel Ssenyonyi earlier on that day attended a burial of Mrs. Florence Ochora the wife of former Gulu RDC, the late Rtd Col Walter Ochora in Obiya Highland in Gulu district.
