
TORORO – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to Ugandans to develop a strong sense of ownership for their country.
Speaking during the maiden 20th coronation anniversary for the Japadhala cultural leader Kwar Adhola Moses Owor held Wednesday at Achilet primary school in Rubongi president through the 2nd deputy prime minister and minister for East African Affairs hailed the Jopadhola community for being patriotic and peace-loving.
The president retaliated that since the restoration of Tieng Adhola cultural institution 20 years, the government has enjoyed healthy and cordial working relationship with the institution.
‘’I wish to acknowledge the good cordial working relationship that my government has enjoyed with the Tieng Adhola cultural institution since its restoration 20 years and how I wish its does not stop there because we need to move this country some’’ read part of his speech.
He also commended the institution through its leadership for guiding its subjects to ensure that they support government programmes.
The president encouraged cultural leaders to support government move to gazette develop some of the cultural sites which government hopes will boost the country’s economy and also create employment opportunities.
The Kwar Adhola Moses Owori in his maiden speech thanked government for the support it has extended to cultural institution but still appealed to the line ministry to consider advocating for an allocate of special grant to facilitate cultural institutions to be able to implement their planned activities.
‘’Chief guest I want to thank government for the support its rendering to cultural institution but continue to request your to consider allocating grants to the cultural to assist in running some of its activities more mobilizing communities to participate in the implementation of government programmes that target to transform their lives’’ His highness Kwar Adhola Owor requested.
He requested the office of the president through the first deputy prime minster for financial assistance towards completion of the Royal palace in Nyangole which has currently stalled hence becoming a reference of shame to the Kingdom.
The king re-echoed the uniting of Jopadhola and great steer of Jopadhola people towards achieving progressive development.
The king also challehged the president of his recurred pledged to tarmac Tororo-Busolwe- Namutumba road to make it easy for communities to access social services.
The minister of state for health general duties Sarah Achieng Opendi challenged the cultural leaders to gang up to fight against reported increase of incest.
She attributed the practice to be responsible to the reported increase in diseases which are inherited through family genes.
The West Budama South MP Jacob Oboth Oboth and the Tororo municipality MP Mr. Yeri Apollo Ofwono separately thanked the king towards fighting for the peace of Jopadhola in Tororo county and other parts of the country despite of the current clashes in the district adding that they are going to do all things to subdue all people who oppose Tieng Adhola cultural institution
Like Oboth said he wonders whether the Jopadhola could be in existence without the efforts of Tieng Adhola cultural institution towards fighting for the unity, peace and heritage of the Jopadhola citing that the institution has been with them before in joy and sadness
Mr. Oboth noted ‘’that the hard times the Jopadhola have faced in the past and present has fully tested the ability and the capability of the Kingdom towards defending her subjects hence promising to support the kingdom in all struggles’’
He also pledged to seek audience with Kwar Adhola in his palace to find solutions towards those who are fighting to seize off appointment opportunities from the president.

He asked all the leaders in the jurisdiction of Tieng Adhola cultural institution to pay the allegiance to the institution and failure to do so must face censorship
