KAMPALA — Justice Flavia Angelina Ssenoga of the High Court in Kampala has on September 24 sentenced a father to 25 years in jail for defilling his 12 year old biological daughter.
Peterson Musoke was found guilty of impregnating his 12 year old daughter and infecting her with HIV/AIDs.
While sentencing him, justice Senoga explained that the offense of aggravated defilement is on the increase and that people like Musoke should be incarcerated to protect the vulnerable children.
The judge further ruled that if Musoke can defile and infect his own daughter, then other young girls are also in danger if he is set free.
She also wondered if Musoke was able to repeatedly defile his own daughter while their mother/wife was alive, then what will stop him from abusing them more freely while left in his care with out their mother who reportedly died.
Justice Senoga has further ruled that Musoke should be kept away for that long because by the time he comes out, his children including the young daughters will be grown up and ready to defend themselves from him.
She stated that the convict is a monstrous father who had a duty as a father to protect his children but instead chose to break such duty in the worst way by turning against his own child and abusing her in the worst way exposing her to unwanted pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and many other venereal diceases.
Prosecution states that between the month of September and October 2016 at Gotta village, Gombe sub county in Wakiso district, the convict repeatedly defiled his own daughter making her pregnant and infecting her with AIDS.
