KABALE – Police in Kabale district have started an investigation into the cause of death of one Samuel Barisigara who was found hanging in his house.
Mr. Baritsigara 60, was a resident of Rutoma cell Nyabikoni ward Central division Kabale Municipality.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police commander said that the incident occurred on Saturday morning September 21, 2019, at around 09:00 hours from his house using a piece of cloth.
“It’s alleged that the deceased had a mental problem and about three months back had been admitted at Kabale psychiatric unit where he underwent treatment,” Maate said.
The son to the deceased only identified as Kajungu, a boda-boda cyclist with whom they were staying together, said his father had earlier in the morning told him that he felt like dying something he (son) ignored because of the mental illness.
“I was later on surprised at around 09:00 hours when I was called and informed of my father’s death,” he said.
Police visited the scene with the police surgeon who confirmed death by hanging and case registered at Kabale police station vide SD 25/21/09/2019.
