KAMPALA —Pastor Jackson Senyonga of Christian Life Church will host President Yoweri Museveni at his Makerere Kavule based Church on Friday 27.
State House’s Linda Wamboola has confirmed in a press statement to journalists.
Pastor Senyonga said in a statement that Museveni will deliver a keynote address during his Praise, Prayer, Power, Prosperity and Permanent Miracle (P5) Pastor’s retreat happening at former’s church in Kampala.
The retreat started 24 September, 2019, drawing multitudes of Pastors from all across the region.
Regarding why he stated the retreat, Pastor Senyonga said there are several Pastors “going out into the field” without the presence of God.
“Ministry success is not money or people. It is not power or fame. It is breaking through every obstacle to be a man or woman of His presence,” he said, quoting Mark 3:14 which says.
‘He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach.’
During Museveni’s meeting with Pastors at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on Monday, the president said he will engage pastors to fight poverty and ensure Ugandans live decent lives.
He also pledged to look into the ‘controversial’ Faith and Religious based Organisation policy drafted by Ethics and Integrity Minister Father Simon Lokodo.
“The Lokodo issue, we shall discuss it biblically. I have not had time to discuss with Lokodo and I don’t know why he is wasting his time. Simon Peter did not go to the seminary when Jesus called him,” President Museveni said.
‘‘His proposal should not be blown out of proportion, but can be discussed in a round-table with all the other religious leaders… We shall discuss because I don’t see a big issue here. Of course the Catholic and the Anglican church train their priests. You can look at the advantages that are there, but then what do we do with Simon Peter who was just a fisherman and Jesus told him, stop fishing and become a fisher of men?” the President continued.
“I will call all of you, Lokodo, the other religious leaders, the archbishops, the mufti, and we will talk and see what is good for the word of the Lord,” the President added.
The Church leaders asked the President to include them in the government’s Operation Wealth Creation programme and pledged their unconditional support to him, sources reported.
