
BUSHENYI – Police in Bushenyi district has on September 5, impounded a vehicle carrying over 30 cows on orders of ministry of security over security concerns.
Mr. Martial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson confirmed that the cows were intercepted on Thursday at around 08:00hours on orders of the defense ministry to impound all vehicles carrying cattle suspected to be from Tanzania destined to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Mr. Tumusiime said that intelligence information has revealed that the cows could have been donated by the ADF well-wishers in Tanzania to facilitate the feeding and facilitate the activities of a rebel group ADF in the DRC.
Information also revealed that the ADF are undergoing training to launch an attack on Uganda.
He said that they are investigating, scrutinizing and after discovering that they are in right channel they will be set free.
“We are still verifying these cows, when we find they entered the country in the right way, we shall leave the owners to continue their way,” Tumusiime explained the arrest.
The cows and the vehicle are currently detained at Bushenyi Central Police Station.
