
KAMPALA – Legislators on the organising committee of the 21st National Prayer Breakfast have said the final touches to the much-anticipated event have been finalised with guests looking forward to dedicating the Pearl of Africa to the hands of God.
The MPs led by the Chairperson of the National Prayer Breakfast Fellowship, also Minister of State for Planning, Mr. David Bahati while addressing journalists at Parliament today said the 21st National Prayer Breakfast, will be held on October 8. The breakfast will be at the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala on the eve of the 57th Independence celebrations.
“The essence of the prayer breakfast is to remind legislators and leaders in the country, of their role in making laws, policies and decisions that respect and develop mankind as children of God and to deepen our relationship with God. It is also to give our nation that spiritual strength, to renew and strengthen those bonds of brotherhood with the faithful across our country and around the world,” he said.
Hon. Bahati said that the prayer breakfast will also give people the opportunity to ask for God’s guidance and express their gratitude for what he has given them.
Jovah Kamateka (Mitooma Woman) and Margaret Rwabushaija (Workers MP) said that in the coming national prayers, the leaders will be reminding themselves to be persons of integrity and to live as examples to the young generation.
Silas Aogan (Kumi Municipality) said that the breakfast is an important occasion to awaken the generation to the realities of God and urged Ugandans to take part in the prayer to petition God to provide a lasting solution to problems like the kidnaps and murders across the country.
Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango will give a testimony of his life success at the event with delegates from the East African Community, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, US, Europe and Asia.
This year’s ceremony will be held under the theme; The Power of Character in Leadership taken from Titus 2:7-8. The guest of Honour is expected to be President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, while the keynote speaker will be Pr. Johnny Enlow, Author of Seven Mountains of Prophecy Restore 7 Organisations, United States of America.
Bahati explained that Enlow was chosen because of his passion to awaken our generation to the reality of the God of all of life, who not only cares for our souls, but also has practical solutions to offer through His sons and daughters for every problem that exists in society.
