
KAMPALA – In a bid to boost water supply along Entebbe road-Bwebajja, Akright, Kitende, Kawuku, Kajjansi and the surrounding areas, the Management of National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has informed the general public that there will be interruptions in traffic Sunday 27, 2019 from 12am to 3am along Entebbe road at Akright stage.
“This is to allow NWSC engineers carry out excavation and pipe laying works aimed at boosting water supply in the areas above,” said the Corporation in a statement on Saturday.
The corporation said that motorists heading to Entebbe from Kampala will use the Entebbe Expressway and those heading to Namulanda, Kisubi will use the Bweya-Namulanda- Old Entebbe road.
“Road diversions have been placed and traffic officers will be on ground directing the traffic,” it said.
On Thursday, the new Danish Ambassador to Uganda His Excellency Nicolaj A. Hejberg Petersen paid a courtesy visit to NWSC boss Dr. Eng Silver Mugisha at the NWSC Head office in Kampala, Nakasero.
The two discussed service delivery along Entebbe road and the surrounding areas.
Dr Mugisha informed the Ambassador that the plans were already underway to secure a 140million Euros subsidized loan from the Government of Denmark to the Government of Uganda to construct water supply infrastructure which will serve over 1million people along Entebbe road.
