KAMPALA – The Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira who is the Patron of Brigade in Namirembe Diocese presided over the passing out and awarding of certificates to Brigade Officers who successfully completed training in Officers Basic Course 1 by the Secretary-General of Brigade in Uganda Mr. Dantes Kashangire.
According to Church of Uganda, the objective of the training was to empower the young leaders clearly understand what Brigade is and also with basic knowledge to use in attracting and attaining the members.
In his remarks at ceremony also attended by the Diocesan Youth Secretary, Diocesan Head of Laity, and Secretary-General of Brigade in Uganda., the Bishop thanked the Field Office and the Secretary-General for the training.
He reminded the officers that leaders are chosen by God and therefore they should go out and serve Him with all their energy, skills and passion.
The officers who were trained from 20th to 26th 2019 covered the following topics:
Brigade Objective, starting a coy, purpose of drill, practical drill, running a coy, Brigade Methods, Brigade Uniform, Church and Brigade Relationship, Qualities of a Brigade Officer, Bible Study, The Boy/Girl, Brigade History and knowledge.
