
KAMPALA —The Deputy Chief Justice Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo on Wednesday November 6 launched the book Medicine, the Law and You by Dr. Sylvester Onzivua at Hotel African, Kampala.
The book discusses, a critical analysis of forensic evidence in the courts of law.
Justice Owiny-Dollo applauded the Dr. Onzivua for writing the book and never giving up on educating the nation.
He also advised other young doctors who attended the three day conference to go ahead and study law and forensic.

“Knowledge of the law and forensic makes one a complete medical doctor” he said.
In attendance, was Retired Justice Augustus Kania and Justice Richard Wabwire of Commercial Court who presented a few remarks on behalf of Justice Kiryabwire Geoffrey.
In 2006, Justice Kiryabwire presented a paper entitled Medical Malpractice/Negligence in Uganda: Current Trends and Solutions with the idea to sensitize the medical profession on the legal standard of care that is expected of them when attending to patients.

This conference is under the theme: Unmasking Antimicrobial Resistance & Other Silent Epidemics.
The 3 day conference is focusing attention on unmasking with data, some of the silent epidemics and hope to create widespread scientifically evidenced awareness about health challenges as a major step towards paving solutions to mitigate, control and prevent the epidemics.
The 5 key partners are; Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Uganda Medical Association, Ministry of Health, Uganda National Association of Community and Occupational Health, and World Health Organization
