
KAMPALA —Members of the Armed Forces and key civilian agencies from the six East African Community Partner States who are to participate in a joint training have arrived at the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centerin Jinja which is the exercise venue.
The six contingents comprising of sixty participants each, have Monday November 4 completed the accreditation process, briefing and camp set up ahead of the official opening ceremony on November 7, 2019.
The exercise is to be executed in phases with the exercise clinic to run up to November 6, conduct of the exercise from 07-16 November 2019 and an after action review from 17-20 November 2019.
The exercise is code named “Ushirikiano Imara 2019” with Maj Gen Sam Kavuma the D/CLF as it’s director.
According to the head of mission for the exercise Dr. Sam Omara, the it will be conducted in line with the EAC Protocol on Cooperation in Defence Affairs in which partner states agreed to co-operate in military training.
Other areas of co-operation are joint operations, technical co-operation and visits and exchanges to include sports activities among others.
