
KAMPALA —Police have confirmed the death of one person, identified as William Matovu (32), a rider, following an accident which occurred at Kiwatule on Thursday morning where a Sino truck registration number UAX 495M rammed into vehicles.
According to Police, the deceased breathed his last at Kampala Independent Hospital where he was rushed for treatment.
Eight casualties, were admitted at Mulago hospital after the accident.
A total of nine motor vehicles and two motorcycles were involved in an accident at the Naalya-Kiwatule junction in Kampala on Thursday.

This was after a Sino trailer UAX 495M loaded with aggregate stones lost control and rammed into vehicles that were waiting for a green signal from the traffic lights.

Police says the Sino truck driver that is believed to have caused the accident is currently on the run and that investigations are still ongoing to establish what exactly caused the accident.
