KAGADI – A total of 780 people have abandoned Owobusobozi Bisaka’s Faith of Unity and converted to the Anglican Church in Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi District.
The followers were welcomed to the church by the retired Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Archdiocese, Nathan Kyamanywa, at the Muhorro Town Church of Uganda on Sunday.
Muhorro is the headquarters of Unity of Faith.
This comes after Bisaka’s son Biijabyonka Bisaka passed on early last month. The deceased left behind 11 wives and 22 children.
Followers of Bisaka expected him to resurrect his son since he has always claimed to have such powers. However, when it did not happen, they decided to leave the faith. Biijabyonka’s death and burial ceremony were kept a secret since the Kagadi based spiritualist realized that it would be a discredit if his followers and critics get to know about the development.

Bisaka, 90 is also frequently ill and was a year ago feared to have died after keeping out of the limelight for long. It emerged that he had only gone abroad for treatment.
The Faith of Unity congregation prays every second, 12th and 22nd day of the month. For the rest of the days, each follower develops a list of good things they hope for daily.
The group does not believe in the Bible, calling it divisive but use ‘the book of the Faith of Unity’ authored by Owobusobozi and spells out cleaning courtyards, grazing animals, washing, hunting, donating, smiling at friends and praying to God as deeds that can give one eternal life.
