KAMPALA —Any police officer who misuses his/her position should know they have no place in a civil force and their day of reckoning will soon come.
Today we experienced the near death of Dr. Besigye when a police driver of vehicle registration no. UP 5977 directed a heavy jet of water directly on to his back. From a height of over two metres I am sure the drivers and operators intention and estimation was to hit Dr. Besigye and cause a fall head first onto the tarmac. My conclusion therefore is that there was an obvious attempt on the life of Dr. Besigye this afternoon. What saved him was survival reflex and his strong will to cling to his sunroof.
I wish to remind officers of all security agencies that this cruel treatment of citizens is not going unnoticed especially in this digital age where having a good phone means a good camera too. We as FDC have taken note of brutal police and army officers and are compiling and will soon publish a list of officers responsible for mishandling citizens. We are also taking notes about their commanders. What you do to us while in service will continue to haunt you long after the dictator you so happily choose to be misused by is long gone. You need to know that People’s Power is more supreme than the weapons you brandish.
