The Chief Administrative Office Elias Byamungu cautioned the contractor to grant workers some time to visit their families to avoid them involving in irregular affairs with area residents which may lead to increased unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
“We are yet to see works commence here, but to you the contractors ensure sometime to these labourers at least a week or days so that they can check on their families” said Mr. Byamungu.
Byamungu added, “Families have broken down because many contractors do not want to guarantee to leave to labourers resulting into community under development”.
Frank Mabwa the Katenga LC1 chairperson said the school will ease access to education within the parish noting that students have been moving 20KMs to access education, making it hard especially for the girl child to complete her studies.
