
KAMPALA – Police is mourning one of their own officers, ASP Daniel Mugisha, 34, who succumbed to diabetes on Sunday.
Mugisha, who hails from Rukungiri District and has been serving in the Police Standards Unit, is said to have fallen in his bathroom in Kampala.
He joined Uganda Police in 2010 and served Uganda police in different capacities including being OC for Mukono Katosi, Nagalama, Kisasi and joined Police Standards Unit (PSU) where he has been working at the time of his death.
Mugisha was born on 28th August 1985 to late Rwakiseta Charles, a former Police officer. He attended Kitunga Boarding Primary School and Kitunga High School Muntuyera for O’Level. He then joined East High School for his Advanced level and joined Makerere University where he did a Degree in Information and Technology (IT).
He is set to be laid to rest in Wednesday in Rukungiri.
Hundreds took to Facebook to send their condolences. Winnie Keza said: “I met him at my brother’s wedding but he was such a down to earth and very calm guy, may God strengthen the family and may his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Vetro UG said: “What killed him at such a tender age? Let God be the Judge. R.I.P, is all we can say to a fellow human being who has lost a dear life.”
Onesmus Philip said: “Rest in peace my cousin brother, forever you will be remembered in our family. You were such a great person with great sense of humor and served our country with pride. You REST IN ETERNITY my brother. Will miss you forever till we meet again. RIP one again.”
