KAMPALA – Security minister Gen Elly Tumwine has humiliated the deputy coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, Lt. Gen. Charles Angina, whom he accused of using soldiers to violently resolve a land dispute involving business man Godfrey Kirumira.
Gen Tumwine, in a video, is seen admonishing Gen. Angina for using soldiers to evict Mr Kirumira.
“Don’t abuse our forces. We all have wrangles but we don’t use the force like this. We have worked to build the image of our force,” Gen Tumwine is seen telling Lt Gen Angina who is clearly shaken.
Gen Tumwine in the video tells Angina that if there is a dispute on the land, that is an issue that should be left for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to enforce the law and not the army.
Last month, this website reported that Kirumira was beaten up by soldiers sent by Angina who accused him of blocking the demarcation of the contested land.
