
KAMPALA – The Director Veteran Affairs Brig (Rtd) Emmanuel Musinguzi has commended the UPDF for the selfless service to Africa through AMISOM.
Brig Musinguzi was addressing the UPDF Battlegroup XXX which is a unique group.
The group is made of 3000 officers, men comprising of veterans, in-service soldiers and Uganda Military training and mentoring team to Equatorial Guinea (UMTMT-EG)
While giving a lecture of opportunity at Singo Peace Training centre, Brig Musinguzi thanked the commander in chief of UPDF for having availed the opportunity for UODF to participate in peacebuilding to other African countries.
The veterans were particularly applauded for their continued contribution whenever they are deployed.
“Upon coming back, you should put the little you have save to good use especially the veterans because such international deployments are rare,” he advised men and officers.
“To the in-service soldiers, the money should help you prepare for retirement by investing in money-generating ventures that will improve their household incomes after leaving the service,” he added.
Present were cheif of Pension and Gratuity Col Kefa Nangeso, BG XXX Commander Col Jimmy Musoke, and UMTMT III to Equatorial Guinea Commander Col Geoffrey Karugaba.
