
KAMPALA – The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development is seeking for Shs41b for the construction of new office space as well as new lifts for the existing building so as to respond to the increased mandate of the Ministry.
The details are contained in the 2019/2020 ministerial performance report in which the Ministry highlighted the activities it intends to undertake in the 2020/2021 financial year.
The team from the Ministry of Finance was headed by David Bahati and accompanied by Kenneth Mugambe Director Budget as well as Betty Kasimbazi Under Secretary who appeared before the Parliamentary Finance Committee on Wednesday 8, 2020.
The Ministry of Finance highlighted the construction of new office building at Shs40b as well as new ministry lifts at Shs1.2b to respond to the expanded Ministry mandate especially deal with staffing office space and related costs.
The Ministry is also seeking Shs3b to undertake activities during the budget month as well as Shs1.5b for Petroleum Investment Advisory Committee and another Shs1.5b for Petroleum Revenue Modeling Unit.
The Ministry is also seeking for Shs3b for ease of doing business, Shs224b to implement the Economic zones in Entebbe EZ as well as Shs47b for the rollout of IFMS, upgrade and licenses Strengthening the PFM framework Shs7b.
