
KAMPALA — The murder trial of ISO’s director son Brian Bagyenda has flopped for the second day on Tuesday January 7, 2020 after the two appointed court assessors failed to turn up in court for the hearing.
Court heard that the two assessors provided by court under criminal trials where just returning from Alur where they went to spend the festive season.
The presiding Judge Moses Kazibwe Kawumi, who was surprised said he could not go on which the hearing of the case without the assessors and he adjourned the case tomorrow.
On Monday 6,2020 the case did not proceed because prison authorities had not produced the suspects before court.
Bagyenda; a son to Col. Kaka Bagyenda is alleged to have murdered his girlfriend Enid Twijukye a former student of Ndejje Univeristy in January 2016.
After failing to strike a plea -bargain deal with the DPP to plead guilty to the offense in exchange of a light sentence, Bagyenda formerly a Pharmacist at Mulago hospital was jointly put on trial with Innocent Bainomugisha; a cleaner and Vincent Rwahwire a casual labourer who are all residents of Kimwanyi zone in Luzira Nakawa Division.
Prosecution states that on January 4, 2016 at Njobe road, Nakawa division in Kampala district, Bagyenda together with his two accomplices with malice afore thought murdered unlawfully caused the death of Twijukye.
