
KAMPALA – Shock continues to grip the family of Odwori following the untimely death of Sarah Kamazima after delivery.
Sarah Kamazima Odwori, a banker with Equity Bank Kasangati Branch, passed away on Saturday night, January 4, 2020 at Norvic Hospital.
A source close to the family, a one Maria Kanyamugara, a member of WIMA (Women International Maternity Aid) whose objectives include Safe childbirth for all, revealed that the determined banker delivered by c-section and later complained about stomach complications.
”She had a successful C-section Saturday; giving birth to a bouncing baby boy at Norvic Hospital,” Kanyamugara eulogizes in grief.
“Both Mrs Odwori and the baby boy were fine until late in the night when she complained of stomach complication that had gotten worse; triggering the deceased’s sister to instantaneously call personnel on duty to save her,” she adds.
Kamazima was rushed to the theater only to be pronounced dead moments later.
Efforts to reach the Norvic Hospital management turned futile with telephone calls going unanswered.
Born to Bernard and Enid Baryakareeba of Kizinga Village, in Nyakasharara Parish, Kaharo Subcounty, Kabale District, Sarah Kamazima went to Kizinga Primary School, Kabale Secondary school, Trinity college Kabale for A level and UCU Mukono.
Mr and Mrs Odwori (RiP) walked down the aisle with Mr. Odwori in a colourful wedding in September 2019.
She grew to be a Godfearing woman and offered musical ministry at Kizinga Church of Uganda (CoU) -playing piano,” eulogized Davis Bonzer Wampaya, a close relative.
Friends, family and the banking fraternity expressed their deepest condolences to the Odwori family.
“The UCU Alumni Association conveys condolences to the family and friends of the Odworis.
Sarah Kamazima Odwori an Alumnae of Uganda Christian University passed on as she was giving birth. May the Lord strengthen the family and friends.”
Another Alumnus wrote: “Sad indeed, Maternal and Perinatal Death is still real. There is yet alot to be done if it has to be reduced.
May the soul of Sarah rest in eternal peace.” the alumnus added.
Mrs Sarah Kamazima’s burial will be in Namayingo district this Friday, January 10 at 1:00 pm.
