GAYAZA — Police have arrested a number People Power coordinators as it continues to heavily deploy at Our Lady Of Good Counsel Gayaza, Catholic Parish a place scheduled to host Bobi Wine’s first consultative meeting.
Those arrested include Kasangati mayor Tony Ssempebwa who heads Bobi Wine‘s elections teams.
Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi was expected to start his consultations today Monday January 6 in his constituency but the Police has blocked the meeting.
Police has since ordered tent and music service providers off the place arguing the grounds are open and consultations should be in closed spaces.

This website has learnt that all roads to the venue for the consultations have been closed off.
The District Police Commander says he met a 12-man People Power team and gave them a list of things to fulfil before the consultations can continue.
Police says they blocked the meeting after intelligence revealed that the organizers had plans to do campaigns which contravenes the law.
But People Power Coordinators says one of the things they agreed upon was to have an enclosed tent which was to be built on the day of the meeting.
“We have a traffic and road safety plan, an ambulance and toilets, but whatever we agreed upon last night is null and void today. Our team is already in Naguru trying to engage the IGP to make sure we have our consultations,” another People Power coordinator said.
According to a notification to Parliament, Bobi Wine who is supposed to be at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Gayaza Parish, Kyadondo East says he complied with section 3 (3) of the presidential Elections act 2005 and provisions of the public order management act 2013.
