
GULU — A man suspected to be a Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) officer has on the evening of Monday February 10 shot four people in Pece division, Gulu.
Maj. Ceasar Olweny UPDF 4th Division spokesperson in Gulu has confirmed the incident.
Major Olweny also confirmed that three of the four have been confirmed dead upon reaching Lacor Hospital in Gulu.
The deceased include Ajok Beatrice, Joakim, 18, and Dan Binyang a teenager.
The incident happened near Pentecostal Assembly Of God (PaG) church.
Kelly Komakech, Pece Division Chairman has identified the suspect as Corporal Geoffrey Okello, a resident of the same area.
He said the suspect is still at large.
According to Komakech, Corporal Okello had misunderstanding with the family of Ajok whom he accused of grazing her goats on his land.
He noted that the tension about grazing goat on the said land was earlier heard by the area LC1 and was resolved but it seems the suspect was never contented.
