KAMPALA – The new administration of the Commercial Division of the High Court has introduced monthly staff meetings where all judges will be meeting with the court staff to brainstorm on strategies of improving their service delivery.
Earlier this week, the Head of the Division, Justice Henry Peter Adonyo, informed staff of the adopted strategies from the judges meeting.
According to a circulated Internal Memo, Judges have been allocated duties in a bid to decentralize the administrative work.
Justice Duncan Gaswaga will chair the Budget and Planning Committee; Justice Richard Wabwire, Estates /Security; Lady Justice A.B. Mugenyi for Welfare; while Justice Boniface Wamala is for Reforms (Mediation/Small Claims); and Lady Justice Abinyo Susan will steer the Case Flow Management Committee.
“This is done for purposes of transparency in the administration of the division and management of funds”, Justice Adonyo said, adding that it will also help in assuring the effective and efficient administration of justice at the court.
The meeting also brainstormed on ideas intended to improve customer care, the image of the court, working relations with stakeholders, smooth flow and management of files/registry, security and staff motivation.
Among others present in the meeting were Judges; Richard Wabwire, Boniface Wamala, and Susan Abinyo, and the Court’s Deputy Registrar, Dr. Agnes Nkonge.
