
KAMPALA – A Reverend who went missing has been found alive Wednesday after days of intense searching through rough and remote terrain.
Rev Isaac Mwesigwa of Kasaka – Gomba Central, Buganda Diocese and a student at Uganda Christian University (UCU) was reported missing on Sunday, February at around 9:00 pm in Mukono.
Police and the church began searching. The search then expanded with help from multiple different police departments.
After three dispiriting days, the search hit a milestone on Wednesday morning when rescuers have the Rev Mwesigwa alive about 500Km miles from where he went missing.
Police Commissar Asan Kasingye said Rev Mwesigwa was found alive in Soroti District.
“God is good, Rev Isaac Mwesigwa found in Soroti alive. He is right now at Soroti Catherdral Hospital under the care of Bishop of the area,” Kasingye wrote on twitter.
Rev Isaac Mwesigwa was received by his Grace Archbishop Stanly Ntagali, who was on his pastoral visit in the region.
The authoritative Uganda Radio Network on Tuesday reported that Mwesigwa’s car, a white Raum registration number, UAR 468D was recovered by residents in Sonde parish, Seeta in Mukono district.
Police didn’t give details of how the reverend reached Soroti, about 500KM away from Mukono.
