KABALE – The former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President, Dr. Kizza Besigye has advised the Ugandans to greet using their elbows in order to prevent spread on coronavirus through handshakes.
Besigye was on Sunday, March 8 attending Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Kijuguta in Kabale district.
He demonstrated to supporters who met him in Kabale town and during Mass.
Addressing the congregation, Besigye, first reminded all the men in the church to respect women and treat them with dignity.
Besigye then delved into socio-political issues of the area ranging from women rights, family instability, bad governance, failing social services delivery, and general distress the people of Kabale and Uganda are faced within their daily lives.
He urged everyone to get involved in solving the problems afflicting them.
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, which is has existed for 5 years, is under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Christ the King Parish.
Mass was celebrated by Fr. Fred Birungi, the Parish Priest Christ the King Church, Kabale.
In his homily, Fr. Birungi encouraged the congregation to be faithful to God, fair and just to each other, and to be resilient to overcome all challenges they face in life.
Dr. Besigye later met office staff for interaction on how to guide people on issues of struggle and briefly addressed a crowd that gathered outside the office.
