KAMPALA — Eleven choir members of leading pentecostal based Watoto Church have tested positive for the COVID-19, President Museveni announced on Tuesday.
This brings the total number of confirmed people diagnosed with COVID- 19 in Uganda to 44.
Watoto Churche also separately earlier said that they were working closely with Ministry Of Health
and the assigned health workers to follow all the necessary precautions to curb any further spread of the virus.
The choir of 12 children and 10 adults have been quarantined since their arrival at Entebbe International Airport on March 20, 2020.
11 of the members have now tested positive.
Uganda has recorded 44 cases of Coronavirus virus infections in one month of March and the government has moved to shutdown public movements in a bid to stem the spread.
All of them are alive.
Despite this, President Museveni remains confident that the country is doing a good job at limiting the further spread of the virus.
The pandemic has brought the world to a standstill.
